I won’t lie; one of my favorite things about Thanksgiving is that I can start decorating for Christmas without judgment. Yes, I am that girl who really gets decked out for the holidays.
While I’m still excited to pull out my decorations and get in the holiday spirit, this year, Thanksgiving has begun to take on a different meaning for me. Our oldest daughter, RB, is at that age where she is starting to understand what it really means to be appreciative. It’s been fun rehearsing appropriate responses, in case anyone in pre-school asks her what she’s thankful for. I also just read in SHAPE magazine that people who are grateful live happier, healthier lives. I’ll take it! But, there’s more …
This year I am especially thankful for our growing family. That’s right, I said it. We’ve got a little more than just a turkey in the oven over here. Baby number three is one the way!
For anyone else out there who has been pregnant three times in four years, you probably feel the same way when you reveal your exciting news to friends and family. While they all respond with joy, you know their actually thinking, “again”? I get it, but as the mommy in this third {and final, I swear!} pregnancy, I feel more grateful than ever. We are so lucky to have been able to get pregnant for a third time, with no complications, and to have a healthy and happy family. Sometimes I just think, how could we be so lucky?
As time goes on I only hope that I feel more thankful every year. I also wish the same for all of you! As the holiday season rolls around, I hope you all have a long list of blessings to be appreciative for. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
