As 2016 came to a close it seemed as though everyone was ready to see it go. While it had its highs, and its lows, overall 2016 was a great year in our book. At home, we welcomed our new, healthy baby boy to the family and immediately fell in love. Within the walls of Corinne Jewelers, we were happy to celebrate another great holiday season, thanks to the support of our wonderful customers.
Now, here we are, one month into the New Year. Having recovered from the madness of the holidays, I have been thinking a lot about what’s to come. As part of that I’ve been keeping my eye on the latest and greatest jewelry trends and I expect to see a lot of stacking cuff bracelets, oval engagement rings and even mismatched earrings. I love all of it, but the trend that I’m really betting on in 2017 is …
Rose gold.
Rose gold is nothing new, lets be serious. This colored metal has been around for hundreds of years. Some decades it has been wildly popular, and other times it’s been overshadowed by other fine metals like platinum and yellow gold. Looking at the last five years alone, the popularity of this soft and sweet hue has definitely been on the rise. In 2017 I’m predicting that it will hit its peak.
Before I show you some of my favorite rose gold pieces, let’s start with the facts. You might be wondering, “How are they even making this stuff?” Well, here’s the deal … in its natural state gold is yellow, but it doesn’t always have to be yellow. Are you following?
A la-la-long time ago someone figured out that if you add specific alloys to gold while it’s in a liquid state it can be transformed into all sorts of amazing colors. Yellow, white, and pink gold have always been the most popular choices, but really the possibilities are endless. I’m going to stop there before my inner science nerd takes over this post.

In todays world we love our kitchen accessories in copper, our eye shadows in shimmery pink, our iPhone covers in blush, and in our glasses – rosè of course. The universe is basically telling us to “go for the {pink} gold”. I’m in.
